“God is good all the time, and all the time God is good.” This quote, which may come as cliché to some, has become a life quote for others, and may have some questioning is God really good.
Just a few days ago, a terrible EF-4 Tornado came through Beauregard, AL. just 11 miles from my home. The Tornado completely destroyed many homes, families, and resulted in 23 fatalities. Even leaving one survivor with many family members deceased. Now I’m sure many may look at the situation and ask where was God? Why God? If God is so good why did he allow this to happen? Unfortunately, I don’t have all the answers. What I do have are encouraging words.
You may not have been a victim of this Tornado, but I’m sure we have all faced some dramatic event in our lives that left us wondering, “is God really good?” I’m here to tell you that yes, God is good. God is good all the time, even in our lowest moments. God is still good, and God is still faithful. Even in the midst of our despair, God is there. Psalm 107:1 says, “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.” We must continue to give thanks and praise God. I know it hurts, I know it doesn’t feel good, but we must all continue to press on. God knows the plans he has for all of us. It may not make sense now, but we must trust and believe that God will work all things together for the good of those that love Him.
The love and support that has been shown throughout the community has been amazing. Many have donated non-perishable items, hygiene items, clothing, money, and even hotel stays. To each one of you that have donated, not just to these victims, but to anyone in a crisis, God sees your heart.
To those that are hurting, God loves you. God is with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you. You are living for a reason, and God has bigger and better plans for you.
